Our Solar Solutions

Complete EPC services from design to commissioning, solar thermal manufacturing, and authorised Adani Solar module supply across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

What does a solar EPC company actually do?

A solar EPC company handles engineering, procurement and construction: it surveys the site and designs the array, specifies and buys the modules, inverters, structure and cabling, builds and commissions the plant, and takes it through sanction, net metering and inspection. Greentek has done this since 1997 and also maintains what it builds.

Greentek runs three related lines of work. It builds solar plants as an EPC contractor, from a three kilowatt home rooftop to megawatt-scale industrial arrays and utility-scale scope in the UAE. It manufactures solar water heating and solar thermal equipment at its plant in Medak, Telangana. And it supplies photovoltaic modules as an authorised Adani Solar channel partner serving Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Questions

Common questions about our solar services

What does EPC mean in solar?

EPC stands for engineering, procurement and construction. An EPC contractor takes single-point responsibility for the whole plant: the design and structural engineering, the purchase of modules, inverters, mounting structure and cables, and the physical construction, testing and commissioning. The alternative is co-ordinating a designer, a supplier and a contractor yourself.

Does Greentek manufacture the solar panels it installs?

No. Greentek does not manufacture photovoltaic modules. It is an authorised Adani Solar channel partner and supplies Adani modules across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Greentek does manufacture solar water heating and solar thermal systems in-house, at its plant in Medak, Telangana.

What is the difference between CAPEX and OPEX solar?

Under CAPEX the customer pays for the plant, owns it and keeps all the generation. Under OPEX, sometimes called RESCO or a solar PPA, Greentek funds, owns, insures and maintains the plant on the customer roof and the customer pays only for the units generated. Greentek owns and operates more than 14 MW of rooftop solar on customer sites under OPEX agreements.

How long does a rooftop solar installation take?

The work on the roof is usually the fastest part. A domestic system is typically installed in a matter of days and a large industrial rooftop over some weeks. What sets the overall timeline is the approval chain around it: load sanction, the net-metering application, discom inspection and meter change.

Does Greentek handle the PM Surya Ghar subsidy application?

Yes. For residential rooftop customers Greentek processes the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana application, including the national portal registration, vendor selection, inspection and the subsidy claim, so the credit reaches the customer bank account without the homeowner running the paperwork.

Which states does Greentek work in?

Greentek has active EPC and service presence in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with its home market in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It has also executed projects in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, and internationally in the UAE, Kenya and the United States.

Who maintains the system after it is commissioned?

Greentek maintains plants under annual maintenance contracts covering continuous performance monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, warranty claim handling and periodic yield reporting. A solar plant is a twenty-five year asset, and unmonitored plants lose generation quietly to soiling, shading and string faults.

Can Greentek fund and own the plant instead of the customer?

Yes, through an OPEX agreement. Greentek carries the capital cost, the performance risk and the maintenance for the life of the contract, typically fifteen to twenty-five years, and the customer pays only an agreed tariff on the units generated. The existing OPEX portfolio includes plants at Sungwoo Hitech and Sungwoo Stampings, Kajaria Ceramics and Chemo India.
