Solar Subsidy Guide 2026: PM Surya Ghar & MNRE Subsidies Explained

The Government of India's PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana remains the most attractive residential solar subsidy scheme in 2026. Homeowners can receive up to ₹78,000 in central subsidy for rooftop solar systems up to 3 kW.

Subsidy slabs are straightforward: ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, and ₹18,000 for the third kW. Systems larger than 3 kW continue to receive the ₹78,000 cap, making the 3 kW system the sweet spot for most Indian households.

To qualify, you must be an Indian homeowner with a valid electricity connection, property ownership, and shadow-free rooftop space. The installation must be new and grid-connected.

Greentek handles the entire process — from feasibility survey and DISCOM net-metering approval to subsidy filing and commissioning. Most installations are completed within 30–90 days, and the subsidy is credited directly to your bank account.

State-level subsidies can add to the central benefit. Contact Greentek for a free eligibility check and personalised savings estimate.
